Samarinda (22/03/2023). PT. London Sumatra Indonesia (PT. Lonsum) which is engaged in the oil palm, tea and cocoa plantation sector held socialization and workforce recruitment activities (campus hiring) for Field Assistant positions for final semester students and Politani Samarinda alumni took place at the Sasana Piwulang Politani Samarinda Building on Thursday (09/03/2023).
Campus Hiring participants were attended by students majoring in Plantation, both the Plantation Cultivation (BTP) study program, Plantation Management (PP) study program, and Plantation Product Technology (THP) study program accompanied by the Head of Plantation Management study program Dr. Sukariyan, S. Hut., MP. and lecturer Pandhu Rochman Suosa Putra, S.Tp., M.Sc. Meanwhile from PT. Lonsum was attended by Adi Sumantri as a speaker (PT. Lonsum Medan), Pujiyanto (PT. Lonsum Jakarta), Ika Yunita Kartikasari (PT. Lonsum Head HRD Pusat Jakarta), and Samsudin (PT. Lonsum from the plantation in West Kutai).
The socialization begins with a brief explanation of the company profile and the purpose of this activity. The rapid development of opportunities for the palm oil industry starting from diversification which are increasingly competitive and the rejuvenation of palm oil in many areas of London Sumatra requires companies to have quality human resources. Apart from that, many employees are retiring but little regeneration makes it a challenge for the company's HR management to hold this activity.
PT. Lonsum offers job vacancies to Samarinda Politani students with an online initial test (field ability score of at least 40) then psychological tests, HRD and User interviews. The activity continued with questions and answers with students. Students are very enthusiastic to join because of the standard salary and complete facilities offered by the company. At the initial stage of recruitment, students fill out an application form and send it to the company's email. The selected candidates will receive an agronomy test form, a psychological test, and an interview.
