PT. Pertamina Hulu Mahakam and Politani Samarinda Collaboration in the Community Development Program of Kutai Lama Village, Anggana District

22 September 2022

Pertamina Hulu Mahakam x Politani Samarinda
PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) and the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Politani) collaborated to run a Community Development Program for members of Farmers Groups, Millennial Farmers and for Women Farmers Groups based on increasing knowledge and skills, namely the Mahakam Organic Agriculture Program (Pernik) 2022 located in Kutai Lama Village, Anggana District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, for 3 days starting 18-20 September 2022.

This community development program by PHM involves experts or resource persons, namely lecturers and PLP from the Samarinda Politani by carrying out development activities for the community such as: Introduction to Integrated Agriculture, and the Practice of Making Organic Fertilizers, this activity is a form of social innovation implemented in the form of environmentally friendly agricultural management by the application of making natural fertilizers using natural ingredients that are easily obtained with a simple process based on local wisdom, as well as efforts to overcome the scarcity and high cost of fertilizers today.

The presence of activities like this, initiated by PHM, proves that the existence of upstream oil and gas companies/industry not only seeks and produces oil and gas but has also created a multiplier effect on society and the environment by presenting beneficial programs for the development of communities around the operational area. Likewise, the presence of universities such as Politani Samarinda is expected to be able to share knowledge, skills and innovations so that the knowledge and skills of farmers will increase. Politani Samarinda and PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) are committed to supporting local governments in increasing the capacity and economy of the community through environmentally friendly and sustainable community empowerment programs. It is hoped that this collaboration will continue to be encouraged and continued with the MoU between Politani Samarinda and PHM. (Humas/AL)
