Samarinda — The Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Politani Samarinda) successfully organized its 2026 Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) program. The event was divided into two major phases—Pre-PKKMB and the main PKKMB—designed to welcome and prepare new students before they officially begin their academic studies.
PRE-PKKMB: FINANCIAL LITERACY EDUCATION FROM BANK INDONESIA
The series of events began with the Pre-PKKMB phase on Monday, August 24, 2026. During this session, new students received an initial orientation covering campus life and educational material presented by an external guest speaker: Bank Indonesia (BI). The material presented by Bank Indonesia focused on currency-related knowledge, ranging from the authenticity features of the Rupiah and the importance of properly handling and maintaining currency as a legal tender, to basic insights into financial management. This activity aimed to equip new students with financial literacy early on, preparing them for the transition into university life and independent living.
PKKMB SPANS THREE FULL DAYS
Following the Pre-PKKMB phase, the program continued with the main PKKMB event, which took place over three days—from August 26 to August 28, 2026. The daily schedule of activities was as follows:
Day One: Open Senate Ceremony and Introduction to Leadership
The first day of PKKMB opened with an Open Senate Ceremony, serving as the official inauguration of the program. The ceremony was attended by the entire Politani Samarinda Senate and the Director of Politani Samarinda. This ceremony held significant symbolic meaning, marking the official acceptance of the new students into the extended Politani Samarinda family.
The day's activities continued with an introduction session featuring the Director and the Deputy Directors, allowing new students to become better acquainted with the leaders who will guide and mentor them throughout their education at Politani Samarinda.
Day Two: Anti-Bullying Education and Sexual Violence Prevention
On the second day, activities featured a briefing by the police regarding the dangers of bullying and sexual violence within the campus environment. This session was facilitated in collaboration with the Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (Satgas PPKS) of Politani Samarinda.
Through this session, new students gained an understanding of the various forms of bullying and sexual violence, prevention strategies, and reporting mechanisms should they experience or witness such acts—all aimed at fostering a safe and comfortable campus environment for the entire academic community.
Day Three: Introduction to Student Organizations and Study Programs
On the final day, new students were introduced to the various student organizations active at Politani Samarinda. Additionally, students visited their respective study programs to gain a deeper understanding of the majors they would be pursuing throughout their academic journey.
The third day—and the conclusion of the PKKMB—featured a lively cheer competition among groups of new students. The closing ceremony was further enlivened by a special performance from the Director of Politani Samarinda, who rappelled down the campus building—a technique typical of nature enthusiast groups (Mapala). This daring feat instantly became the most memorable moment, leaving the new students in awe.
CONCLUSION OF THE PKKMB SERIES
Following the completion of all scheduled events, the 2026 PKKMB program officially concluded, marking the end of the campus orientation period for new students of the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Politani Samarinda).
With the successful completion of the Pre-PKKMB and PKKMB series, it is hoped that Politani Samarinda’s new students are better prepared—mentally, academically, and socially—for college life, and that they possess a solid understanding of the campus environment, safety values, and their chosen study programs.
