Samarinda, 04 June 2026 – Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Politani) demonstrated its commitment to supporting the strengthening of public communication in higher education by participating in the 2026 Public Relations and Protocol Coordination Meeting (Rakor) held by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) at the University of Indonesia, Depok, on 3 June 2026.
In this national scale activity, Politani Samarinda was represented by Puspita, S.E., M.Pd., as Coordinator of the Information and Communication Technology Academic Support Unit (KUPA ICT). The presence of Politani Samarinda is part of the institution's efforts to continue to strengthen the role of public relations and public communications in supporting the transformation of higher education that has an impact on society.
The 2026 Public Relations and Protocol Coordination Meeting was attended by around 350 participants consisting of representatives of State Universities (PTN), 17 Higher Education Service Institutions (LLDikti), as well as work units within the Ministry of Education and Technology. This activity is a strategic forum for strengthening synergy, increasing human resource capacity, and aligning the direction of public communication in higher education in Indonesia.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Fauzan, in his briefing emphasized that universities today not only act as centers for the development of science, but also as centers for innovation and solutions to various societal problems. Therefore, the function of public relations and protocols has an increasingly strategic role in building narratives, conveying achievements, and strengthening public trust in higher education institutions.
In line with this spirit, the participation of Politani Samarinda in the 2026 Public Relations and Protocol Coordination Meeting is an important momentum to increase institutional capacity in managing communication more effectively, professionally and adaptively to developments in digital technology. Various materials presented during the activity included higher education public communication, research and innovation communication, crisis communication, public relations transformation in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), and strengthening protocol functions.
For Politani Samarinda, strengthening the public communication function is an important part of supporting the institution's vision as a superior and competitive vocational college. Through planned and strategic communication, various educational programs, applied research, community service, cooperation, innovation, and academic community achievements can be conveyed widely and provide greater benefits to society.
