Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Politani) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) cooperation agreement with PT. Sentosa Kalimantan Jaya (PT. SKJ) on Friday 12 November 2021 at Harris Hotel Jl. Untung Suropati Karang Asam Ulu, Kec. Kunjang River, Samarinda. The activity held by the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic coupled with this Curriculum Workshop entitled "Curriculum Development and Preparation of Academic Curriculum Manuscripts for Study Programs". The activity was attended by the Director of Politani Samarinda Hamka, S.TP.M.Sc., M.P., Deputy Director I, 2, 3 and 4, Head of the Personnel and General Affairs Department of PT SKJ, Pajri Januardi, and Ir. Zulkarnain, as well as lecturers who are part of the curriculum drafting team, the implementation of this activity continues to apply the Health protocol, namely using masks, and maintaining distance.

The Director of Politani Samarinda, Hamka, S.TP., M.Sc., M.P said that the memorandum of understanding that had just been signed was related to cooperation in the management of productive oil palm land covering an area of ​​30 hectares which was given to Politani Samarinda from PT. Sentosa Kalimantan Jaya (PT. SKJ) to improve skills and knowledge through education or teaching, research, and community service and this is a form of PT SKJ's support for improving the quality of education and Link and Match efforts as well as support for policies for the implementation of the Merdeka Learning program and Merdeka Campus (MBKM)," so that students have competence and are ready to work", said Hamka.

Hamka hopes that this program can continue not only this year. In addition, he wants to encourage other companies to follow the innovation of PT SKJ to contribute to improving the quality of human resources (HR) and the world of education in the East Kalimantan region.
Meanwhile, Pajri Januardi as Head of the Personnel and General Affairs Department of PT SKJ, explained the scope agreed in the memorandum of understanding, namely education and training, improving the quality of human resources, collaboration in the fields of research and community service, on the job training students, and a lecturer at Politani Samarinda on a 30 ha land owned by PT SKJ. "In addition, with this collaboration, PT SKJ is also willing to accept the work of Politani Samarinda alumni and as a place to carry out industrial visits and student internship programs in the future," he said.

It was further stated that there are currently few undergraduate graduates, especially in East Kalimantan, who look to work in plantations, most of them are graduates from outside East Kalimantan. Many outsiders fill internships and work on plantations. "I hope that this collaboration with Politani Samarinda can increase students' interest in working on plantations. Because working on these plantations has high welfare opportunities. We don't need to look for outside plantation experts. the island of Kalimantan.
