Professional orientation is an activity carried out to provide information to students regarding the job description and profile of a company, how the position/position/role of employees, organization, work environment and so on. The Professional Orientation (OP) activity is one of the programs in every study program at the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic Environment, this program is intentionally given to students to recognize the environment of various companies, OP is a medium to introduce the company as widely as possible, such as its vision and mission, work This is done because this can increase knowledge and skills which can later be used as a reference for work.
The Study Program (D3) Forest Products Processing and D4 Wood Engineering Department of Forest Products Technology is implementing the 2020 Professional Orientation (OP) activity program, which was supposed to be implemented in 2020 but could only be implemented in 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
This OP activity was attended by the Head of the Department, Head of the PHH and RK Study Programs, several lecturers, PLP and administration, This OP activity was also coupled with the signing of the MoU by the Director of Samarinda State Politany Hamka, S.TP., M.Sc., MP. and the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) by the Head of the THH Department, Mr. Dr. Rasyid Zarta, S. Hut., MP. This is to support the knowledge and skills of students with the location of the OP activity, namely the Kendal Furniture and Wood Processing Industry Polytechnic, where this Polytechnic is an organization of competency-based industrial vocational education under the Ministry of Industry which continuously makes various efforts to produce industrial workers. who are competent in their fields, In addition, the Head of the THH Department and his Study Programs held a meeting to commit to Cooperation with the PIKA Semarang Academy and the Center for Crafts and Batik (BBKB) Jogjakarta.
Rasyid Zarta as the Head of the department said that from this visit a cooperation agreement was produced as for the field of cooperation to be carried out, namely the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education (research, teaching and community service) developing Human Resources and realizing the acceleration of the implementation of the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) for employees and students in the PHH and RK Study Programs in the THH Department, Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic, he concluded.
