As Chair of the Coalition of Coconut Producing Districts (Kopek) in Indonesia, Gorontalo Regent Nelson Pomalingo paid a visit to the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Samarinda Polytechnic) regarding the coordination of the readiness for coconut seminar activities to be held on 29-30 June 2022. The seminar was initiated by Politani Samarinda and Kopek, with the theme "Coconut for Conservation and Conserving World Coconut, Friday (9/06/2022).
The presence of Nelson Pomalingo is indeed highly anticipated because he knows more about the Kopek organization and is expected to provide a lot of information or input on the agenda that will be carried out both in coordination with the East Kalimantan provincial government and coordination with the Balikpapan municipal government, PPU and IKN authorities, resource persons who will filled in, the regents from coconut-producing areas, plans to plant coconuts in the IKN Nusantara area later.
The Regent of Gorotalo said many things, in his presentation in front of the activity committee, Nelson said that this visit was a form of friendship that he must do to coordinate all matters related to the activities of the International Coconut Conference and the 2022 National Coconut Planting Movement which will be held at IKN. Nelson also explained “the seminar and coconut planting activities at IKN Nusantara must be successful, so good coordination is needed between the Politani who initiated this activity and the Kopek, all committees must work together, build communication and coordinate with each other nothing is missed. he said.
He further stated that there are results to be achieved from this seminar, not just a meeting but are expected to have an impact on coconut development in Indonesia in particular. We want to color the new capital with coconut. "We want coconut plants to become Indonesian plants, if the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Jokowi, brings land and water from various regions in Indonesia, then Kopek will bring various types of coconuts from various regions to be planted to color IKN," explained Nelson.

1. Coconut commodity can become Coconut of the Archipelago
2. Because as an archipelago plant, it must color the new State Capital (IKN Nusantara) so that land is needed for coconut planting
3. Coconut as a Tourism Commodity
4. Coconuts can be a source of conservation, both in-situ and ex-situ
5. Encouraging the emergence of coconut or palm oil majors/study programs
In addition, the head of Kopek also conveyed many things related to the technical implementation of the seminar activities later, such as: who was invited, collaborated with other relevant regions/agencies to get support, and the concept of the declaration, namely the declaration of Coconut as an Archipelago Commodity. he said.
