BALIKPAPAN (26/09/2026) – A total of 60 students receiving the 2026 Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) scholarship arrived in Balikpapan and were welcomed by the reception committee on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at SAMS Sepinggan International Airport. From Balikpapan, they continued their journey by land to Samarinda City to pursue their education at the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Politani Samarinda).
The students hail from various regions, including Sumatra, Riau, Kalimantan, and Papua. This diversity of origins is a hallmark of the scholarship program, which aims to cultivate high-quality human resources for the palm oil plantation sector from all corners of Indonesia.
Upon arrival, the students were greeted by representatives from BPDP and Politani Samarinda. The committee organized the reception and transport of the group to ensure an orderly process, covering everything from arrival registration and luggage checks to departure for the campus. Throughout their studies, all students will reside in the Politani Samarinda dormitory for one year; this residential system is designed to foster discipline, camaraderie, and independence, while helping students from distant regions adapt to their new environment.
With their arrival, initial activities such as campus introductions and new student orientation are set to begin. The students are expected to successfully complete their studies and return to contribute to the development of sustainable palm oil plantations in their respective regions. (HUMAS)
