Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Politani Samarinda) as vocational education that prioritizes skills and expertise continues to forge sustainable partnerships with the business and industrial world as an effort to harmonize theoretical and practical education in the industrial world and the world of work. This form of cooperation is stated in a memorandum of understanding (MoU/MoA) and cooperation agreement (PKS) with 3 Industrial Partners at the same time, namely PT. Ahmad Putra Sejahtera (PT. APS), LSP Sustainable Coffee Cultivation (LSP Coffee), and LSP Indonesian Halal Product Organizers (LSP PPHI). The signing of the MoU and PKS were each signed by 3 Industrial Partners and Director of Politani Samarinda Hamka, S.TP., M.Sc., MP accompanied by Deputy Director IV Politani Samarinda Yulianto, S. Kom., M.MT., Chairman LSP Politani Samarinda Dr. Sukariyan, S.Hut., MP., and Secretary of LSP Politani Samarinda Annafi Franz, S.Kom, M.Kom., was held on Thursday (23/02/2023), at the Teras Kita Hotel, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
In line with the implementation of the Merdeka Learning-Independence Campus (MBKM) curriculum, industry partners have expressed their willingness to cooperate, such as in terms of providing training and certification to several related study programs within and outside the Samarinda Politani, as well as related SMKs; the establishment of a Halal Center and Training Center as an effort to prepare for the status of Public Service Agency (PTN BLU) State Higher Education; as organizer/provider of 2023 lecturer certificates; as a forum for Morning Coffee and discussions by inviting several related Heads of Service; holding a webinar with several SMKs on presidential regulations through resource persons from the relevant provincial offices; creating a campus cafe as a means of discussion and TUK coffee; and other activities.
The Director of Politani Samarinda in his remarks explained, "In accordance with the mandate of Law No. 33 of 2014. Universities are expected to contribute in supporting the acceleration of halal product certification. After the signing of this MoU, Politani Samarinda will establish a halal center with a focus on carrying out studies/research in the halal field, training in the halal field and assisting MSMEs. This collaboration with LSP PPHI will strengthen Politani Samarinda's progress in preparing competent human resources in the halal field."
The Director also added, "Politani Samarinda will become one of the LSP PPHI Competency Test Sites (TUK) so that they can carry out Competency Training and Certification in the field of Halal Supervisors which are urgently needed at this time by Industry and MSMEs because it is a mandatory requirement in administering halal product certification." Drh. Wahyu Suhadji as the Director of LSP PPHI also welcomed this collaboration, "Politani Samarinda can become the center for implementing halal certification in East Kalimantan, based on BPS data for 2020, currently there are 10,328 micro and small industries (IKM) in East Kalimantan who are engaged in the food sector. 10328 halal supervisors, bwlym, are a large industry in East Kalimantan. As a candidate for the nation's capital city, this number will definitely continue to grow and is directly proportional to the need for halal supervisors. Therefore, LSP PPHI welcomes this collaboration. Business actors don't need to go to Java if they want to take part in training and halal supervisor certification, just go to Politani Samarinda."
