Guangxi Eco-Engineering Vocational and Technical College's Visit to Politani Samarinda Also Explores Strategic Cooperation in Forestry, Environment, Agriculture, and Technology
SAMARINDA (10/06/2026) – Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (Politani Samarinda) received a courtesy call from a delegation from Guangxi Eco-Engineering Vocational and Technical College, China, on Wednesday (June 10, 2026). The visit was led by Prof. Wei Lin, President Director of the Guangxi Campus, and his staff, including Mr. Lan Zhenhua, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Center, and Mr. Mo Jusheng, Full-time Faculty Member from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Equipment.

The event, held at the Politani Samarinda campus, began with a friendly meal as a warm welcome to the Chinese delegation. The event then continued with a formal discussion between the two parties, addressing potential collaboration in various strategic sectors.
During the discussion, the two institutions agreed to focus their collaboration on four main areas: forestry, the environment, agriculture, and technology. Politani Samarinda views this collaboration as a significant opportunity to improve the quality of vocational education and the relevance of graduates to global industry needs.
One of the key offerings from Guangxi Eco-Engineering Vocational and Technical College is the 1+1+1 collaborative program, an integrated educational scheme consisting of:
  • The first year of study at Politani Samarinda,
  • The second year of continuing studies and training at Guangxi Eco-Engineering Vocational and Technical College in China, and
  • The third year of on-site internships at companies in China.
Prof. Wei Lin explained that this program is designed to equip students with both academic competencies and real-world international work experience. They see Politani Samarinda as having significant potential in tropical agriculture and forestry. Through the 1+1+1 program, students learn not only theory but also industrial practices in China, which is already advanced in environmentally friendly technology and intelligent manufacturing. Politani Samarinda welcomed the offer and will further review the curriculum, student requirements, and credit recognition mechanisms between the two institutions. In addition to students, Guangxi College also offers certification and training for teaching staff, both lecturers and education staff, to enable them to intern at Guangxi College. The discussion concluded with a commitment to immediately draft a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as the legal basis for future collaboration.

This visit marked a significant milestone for Politani Samarinda in expanding its international network, particularly with leading vocational education institutions from China. It also opened opportunities for students to gain cross-border study and work experience. (HUMAS)
