SNMPN 2022
Today (Monday, January 3, 2022, ed.), the Academic Directorate of Vocational Higher Education together with the Forum for Director of State Polytechnics throughout Indonesia (FDPNI) inaugurated the 2022 State Polytechnic Admission National Selection Path (SNMPN), in Jakarta. The event, which was held in a hybrid manner, was attended by 44 directors of polytechnics throughout Indonesia, principals of SMK/SMA/MA/MAK schools throughout Indonesia and Counseling Guidance Teachers. Also present as a resource person was the Academic Director of Vocational Higher Education, Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja, S.T., M.T., Chairman of the Director Forum of Indonesian State Polytechnics (FDPNI), Dr. Ing. Ahmad Taqwa, MT, and Mursid Triasmanto, Statistical Analyst Staff of PUSDATIN, Kemendikbudristek. “There is a lot of hope embedded in SMK, SMA and MA students throughout Indonesia who want to continue their higher education. And, the National Selection to Enter the State Polytechnic (SNMPN) is a selection path for higher vocational education that can be chosen. Moreover, next year, the State Community Academy (AKN) will also join," said Beny Bandanadjaja, who was present at the same time inaugurating the launch of SNMPN 2022.

Beny also advised students to be very careful in choosing the study program at the destination Polytechnic. “Don't make the wrong choice of study program, because the process that runs in higher education requires appropriate input, both in terms of education and expertise. There are many favorite study programs, but again, this ongoing process will shape the characteristics of graduates according to their interests and talents. It's not just 'the important thing is college'," he added. So far, SNMPN has been an alternative route to continue to Polytechnic Vocational College. Although the number of registrants decreased last year, it does not mean that this route is less attractive to the public. Based on data on the number of SNMPN registrants in 2020 yesterday, there were as many as 214,507 students who joined for the 2 selected program paths at that time, namely D3 and Applied Bachelor. In 2021 the registrants decreased by 128,547 students but there is only 1 choice path for the D3 program. For those with Applied Bachelors, the path is to join the LTMPT selection.

“This decrease is reasonable considering that applicants for the Applied Bachelor (D4) program cannot join the SNMPN pathway. Students who wish to register for the Applied Bachelor program are welcome to take part in the LTMPT selection, namely SNMPTN and SBMPTN. So it can be said, if the SNMPN pathway is still in demand and even to join the Polytechnic, the community can take advantage of several selection paths according to the needs of each student," explained FDPNI Chairman Ahmad Taqwa on the sidelines of the 2022 SNMPN launch event. the registrants this year must be more observant in choosing the intended study program. “There are several study programs at the Polytechnic that are migrating from D3 to Applied Bachelor (D4). Therefore, students who want to register themselves need to check their chosen study program. The point is to be more observant in making decisions about the choice of study programs," he continued. Just like the previous year, the 2022 SNMPN is an invitational selection that is intended for prospective participants/school students who will continue their diploma 3 or D3 education at State Polytechnics throughout Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Applied Bachelor level will conduct a joint selection in the National Selection for State Higher Education Entrance or SNMPTN organized by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute or LTMPT.

The SNMPN pathway is intended for prospective participants/school students who will continue their education at Polytechnics and State Politanies throughout Indonesia with the implementation being carried out simultaneously through selection of academic and non-academic achievement portfolios. Achievement portraits are carried out as long as students attend high school education. Regarding costs, prospective participants / students through the SNMPN route are not charged a penny registration fee. The SNMPN pathway is also open to prospective participants/students from low-income families. Prospective participants/students can apply for the Indonesia Smart Card Scholarship (KIP) for College. For further information and registration, schools can access the https://snmpn.politeknik.or.id page. Schools that have registered will receive a username and password to login and recommend and register their best students. Next, the prospective participants/students who have been recommended by the school will be given a username and password that can be used to enter data online. Registration is open from today, January 3, 2022 to March 18, 2022 and is only for students who graduate this year. (SNMPN PR Coordinator)
